Ferbuary 23, 2007- Georgetown, DE
I really want to infiltrate this gathering....why do only men get to go damn it!!
It is 2007 for crying out loud!
The women go off and eat shrimp while the men get the good stuff- figures.

Oyster Eat
Tickets still available for Oyster Eat

Guys like to do guy things. And in Georgetown for the last 70 years, the guy thing to do the last Friday in February is to get sloshed on cold beer, slurp raw oysters and dance to bluegrass music in a Sussex County fire hall.
What can we say? Only in Delaware. Since the gals were left out of this all-dude affair, they began holding their own shrimp social 17 years ago.
OK, so single-sex gatherings seem as moldy-oldie as rotary telephones. But, hey, this has been First State tradition since the Oyster Eat began in 1937.
Friday’s Ladies Only Shrimp Feast is sold out – wow! talk about girl power – but guys get ready to sharpen your oyster knives. The Oyster Eat takes place from 8 to midnight Friday at the Georgetown Fire Company, South Bedford and Pine streets. Admission is $20 in and $22 at the door. Call 856-7700.
